Work Health and Safety Act 2012

New harmonised work health and safety (WHS) legislation comes into effect 1/1/2012. The focus of this new legislation is a nationally consistent legal framework with uniform WHS laws across Australia. Responsibility for WHS will rest with a real person as opposed to a corporation which means that business owners will incur additional personal responsibility to provide a safe working environment for their employees.
